Palm Door on Sixth celebrates their 1 year anniversary on New Years Eve with Studio Palm Door
Austin, TX - November 12, 2014 -- Since it’s Grand Opening on New Year’s Eve 2014, Palm Door on Sixth has been a welcomed addition to Downtown Austin’s entertainment district adding a contemporary event venue to Historic 6th Street.
On December 31, 2014, Palm Door on Sixth will ring in the new year with their 1 year anniversary celebration Studio Palm Door.
“Our team is very proud to present Studio Palm Door,” says Gracie Luna, Venue Manager at Palm Door on Sixth. “We’ve worked really hard this year and continue to grow quickly. The only way to celebrate our success is to deliver the best NYE dance party in Austin, TX.”
The event is a Studio 54 themed warehouse party starring Brooklyn disco sensation Escort and featuring Austin favorite Holiday Mountain. Guests will enjoy a light up dance floor, complimentary bites and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $99.99 and can be purchased at studiopalmdoor.ticketbud.com.
Enjoying accolades ranging from the New York Times to Pitchfork, the “disco orchestra” features
an incredible cast of musicians including founders/producers Eugene Cho and Dan Balis, and
fronted by lead singer Adeline Michèle. Escort burst on to the scene in 2006 with a string of critically acclaimed 12"s that included future
classics "Starlight" and "All Through The Night". In an era where dance music is dominated by
samples and computers, Escort took a sprawling ensemble to the stage and developed a
reputation as one of New York’s most compelling live acts, capable of performing their elaborate
recordings note for note. Performing in a variety of powerful party line-ups, the band will performs live from a core 5-piece on NYE 2015 at Palm Door on Sixth in Austin, TX!
Holiday Mountain is a vibrant celebration of individuality, movement, sweat, glitter, and
community. Laura Patino formed the group in 2011 while attending Berklee College of Music in
Boston with fellow alumnus bassist/synth player Bradley Will and drummer Zander Kagle.
Brought together by a common desire to push musical boundaries, they skillfully mix
unconventional melodies with danceable grooves and beats that are only enhanced by Patino's
wild yet ethereal vocals.
The team behind Palm Door on Sabine and Pink Avocado Catering Company launched Palm
Door on Sixth at the start of 2014. The event space stands out as the quintessential Downtown
Austin destination venue. The space is right in the action of Sixth Street offering both indoor and
outdoor facilities with full live music production capabilities. Palm Door on Sixth is a versatile
option for weddings, corporate events and concerts hosting groups of up to 1000 between it’s
three spaces. Palm Door on Sixth continues it’s transformation as an urban oasis in the heart of
the historic entertainment district with the addition of a green lawn and beautiful landscaping to
the private courtyard.
